The Copper Forest is a promotional campaign for the autumn prints of the Genal Valley and Sierra de las Nieves.

El Bosque de Cobre is a promotional campaign by the Diputación de Málaga aimed at raising awareness of the attractiveness of chestnut forests during the autumn in the mountains. This term refers to the typically autumn pattern that occurs with the fall of the chestnut leaves. The mountains are covered with a blanket of colors that runs from brown to yellow, orange and ocher.

In order to enjoy these wonderful views with respect to the natural environment, the Diputación de Málaga is going to install specific signage on 19 trails in the Valle del Genal and Sierra de las Nieves.

In this way, the chestnut groves of Alpandeire, Benadalid, Benalauría, Cartajima, Faraján, Genalguacil, Igualeja, Jubrique, Júzcar, Parauta, Pujerra and Yunquera will be identified as territories of the Copper Forest.

In addition to enjoying beautiful autumn images, discovering the Copper Forest will also be discovering these 12 white villages that have great cultural and gastronomic wealth. In all of them, the chestnut forests have a great importance in their economy.

There are also many dishes of its local gastronomy made with this product. During this month various festivities are held around the chestnut where you can enjoy the traditional tostones accompanied by anise, brandy and local liqueurs.
